App: Suma - Budget & Savings
Developer: Pavel Sivak (Poland)
Effective date: September 28, 2026
Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information the suma app (“suma”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles and how. In short: your budget stays on your device. suma has no accounts, never connects to your bank and does not sell or share your data. A few things do leave your device — this policy lists every one of them.
Summary
- Your budget stays on your device. Categories, budgets, income, transactions, savings goals, your name and profile photo are stored locally on your iPhone and are never sent to us.
- No account, no sign-up, no bank connection, no ads. suma does not use the advertising identifier and does not track you across other apps or websites.
- What leaves your device, and only for these purposes:
- Receipt scanning — when you scan a receipt, the photo and the names of your categories are sent to our receipt-reading service so it can split the receipt into purchases.
- Anonymous usage statistics — short events such as “app opened” or “category created”, without amounts or names, so we can see which parts of suma are used.
- Subscription status — Apple and our purchase-verification provider check whether you have Suma Pro.
- Exchange rates — an anonymous request for current currency rates.
- We don’t sell your data and don’t use it for advertising.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller of personal data described in this policy is Pavel Sivak, an individual developer based in Poland. Contact: [email protected].
Data stored only on your device
Everything you enter into suma — your name, optional profile photo, categories and their budgets, income sources, transactions, payment methods, savings goals, monthly history and settings — is stored locally on your device, using Apple’s on-device storage.
- We do not have a copy of it, cannot read it and cannot restore it.
- Deleting the app permanently removes this data.
- If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup, iOS may include suma’s data in that backup. Those backups are held by Apple under your Apple settings, not by us. suma itself does not sync to iCloud.
Receipt scanning (Suma Pro)
Receipt scanning is the one feature that sends content you created off your device. It runs only when you start a scan — by taking a photo of a receipt or picking one photo from your library.
What is sent: the receipt photo (reduced in size) and the names of your spending categories, so each purchase can be matched to one of them. Nothing else from your budget is sent — no amounts, no other transactions, no name or profile photo.
